The Bing Turkby Ensemble

From Turakina, via Castle Xanthros, all the way to sunny Palmy, the Bing Turkby Ensemble brings you a theatrical rock show like no other. Guitar, bass, drums, sax, trombone, accordion, cardboard swords, UFOs and wigs are all involved at various points. The last word in stupid rowdiness, the BTE have defended the Bolivian Mumbling Award successfully for three years. Starting in 1996 as one man, a wig and a tape deck, the band now features this cast of miscreants:

Bing Turkby: rowdy geetar, yelling, accordion, sax, ukulele, master of Sleipnir the 8-legged horse, slayer of the philosophical wishy-washiness, favourite colour - blue.

MacDeth: bass, ukulele, the clap of thunder, growling like a demon in torment, taunter of the feckless, wizard level five, master of the keys, the scroll and the scrubbing brush.

Slapskins McBOOOm: drums, computery stuff, ukulele, clapping heartily with good cheer, knower of the slightly arcane, swordmage triumphant, diviner of the bottomless depths wherein dwell the sacred secrets.

The Ensemble can be spotted at these other locations on the ephemeral-web:Bandcamp, CDBaby, Amplifier, YouTube and MySpace.

Our music has been likened to "Darcy Clay meets Deja Voodoo" (says Jeremy from York St Studios), and "slightly hinged sonic inspiration" (says Chris Knox, Real Groove, Nov 1998).
